So here’s the thing: I have a paid newsletter that I started up almost ten years ago, as I was watching the media landscape that sustained my career turn into an apocalyptic hellhole, before Patreon or Substack were even a gleam in a dev’s eye. The state of print media has only gotten worse, but the newsletter has kept the career and the cartoon alive. I resisted Substack at first, for various reasons — I wasn’t a big fan of the way they chose to handle their rollout. But Elon’s recent tantrum, and the new “Notes” feature, finally piqued my curiosity, and here I am.
The paid newsletter gives subscribers an advance peek at the new cartoon every Sunday, along with various behind-the-scenes notes and musings, and occasional bonus cat pictures. The content here is the same as on Mailchimp and Patreon. If you’re already a subscriber elsewhere but you want to see the occasional free post here, just sign up for a free Substack subscription.
If you’re not a paid subscriber anywhere but you enjoy the cartoon and would like to see it continue — please consider joining up. Reader support is literally what’s keeping it going these days.
